Rear Crank seal sizes.

Postby Quint » Thu Aug 24, 2006 3:23 pm

Got a wee bit of a problem, ordered my crank seal, was supposed to be here this morning wasn't, finally got hold of one, and its slightly shallower (~4mm) than the orginal.

(the old is on the left, the new on the right, u can see the size differance)

Is this a problem or do i just line it flush with the outer edge of the casing?

Cheers.

As above, if the sealing surface size and the OD are the same as the old one then it should be fine. Just put it in flush with the surface how the old one would have looked.

Yea went back and got them to give me one with the same outside and inside diameter but with a deeper throat in it, was .5mm shallower than my orginal, was off some other bizarre car. Stuck that in there :D Was worried about the slimmer one 'wobbling' and leaking oil unto my fresh C/P again.

Had everything all lined up reading for the box to go in, and i forgot the rock gaurd.... DAMMIT.
