G/Box and Driveshaft Q's

what is the outcomes of not getting the 2nd most rear shifter position? W5* gbox for my mx-73
and also will a gx71 (1g-ge?) manual driveshaft fit with a w5* in my mx73?

The spline will match up, not sure about the length though.
