replacen rings & bearings?

Ok, i have a toyota levin 20v silver top blows a bit of smoke after its been sitting for a while and seems slugish untill its warm wanted todo the rings and mite aswell do bearings at the same time, how hards this todo never tryed befor so just wana heads up. and any idea on parts/price would like to make it semi decent but dont wana spend over a grand.

In parts you are looking around 500-700...plus a couple of hundred for the right tools if you cant borrow them.
