Are you using the 4age computer to run the distributor?
My understanding (Ihaven't done this!) is that you run the loom, computer and ignitor with the bluetop distibutor to give the spark. You don't need to connect the engine loom wiring to any injectors or fuel pump (obviously).
Hope this helps you a bit.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

when i get chance i'll measure the shafts on both my nz and import blurtop dizzy's and got an mr2 unit sitn round, can't say i had troubles in the past with different dizzy's. Perhaps the one isn't a bluetop orig. Like did he change the internals to suit the carby application? Igniters and coils are used for efi setups, for carby setup you'll need electonic igniton setup with the coil/igniter asssembly inside the dizzy, #au dizzy with 4k electronic ignition internals would be best bet

then it wasnt a bluetop dizzy.

the ae92 ones are a different p/n
so.. there the bluetop one, redtop bigport, and a small port type.
dunno about the interchangibility on them but id suspest they are pretty damn close
