right
the power steering rack in my corolla is totallly fuxxored.
its a ae92 gt sedan
iv been cross referencing part numbers amoungst the ae92 range to see what will be a suitable donor and the only difference i can find in them is the nz new ones had a different control valve

now, im not all that familier with the intrivate working of the insides of these.
is it likely to be an issue fitting a rack with a differing valve?

My guess... Blame Chris Amon!!!
He had the awesome job of helping toyota NZ fine tune toyotas for the NZ market.
I know that for later corollas he had the toyota technicians fiddle with the power steering, I think they reduced the assistance slightly to give better feedback through the steering wheel to the driver.
I bet this is why the NZ new ones are different for your AE92?

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
