twin tiny turbos

Postby barryogen » Fri Mar 02, 2007 4:40 pm

Is there any advantage in having two tiny turbos(like 2 x GT25R) rated at say 240HP each, instead of running a single(GT3076R) 500HP one?

Would it spool quicker?

Not looking for top end "I have a bigger number than anyone else" type performance, looking for a car that would be nutty fun to drive.

assuming a 2L car.

Just go big single. Its easier to plumb, cheaper, less things to break, sound cooler, and for what its worth my GT3076R seems to spool similar on my RB25 to what standard 1JZGTE turbos spool like on a 1JZ.... and it can make a fair crapload more power ;)

Talking factor, worth it
Actualy doing it, i wouldnt bother.

i do know of a guy in the states who had Twin turboed his Sw20 with 2 Garett VNT (Vairable Nozzle Technology) turbos. it worked Just.

As Lith said it is soo much easyer to do a single.
