of all the people that run ae82 race/rally cars what springs from what model corollas do people use in the rear?? I've heard ae101 rears and maybe struts too to keep them captive. What i'm thinking is using trd rears from an ae101 and will keep it at the height i want it at the moment, which is 100mm give or take 5mm, from lowest point on the car to the ground with 185/60/14 tyres.

Hi,

I run an AE82 and I've got problems with getting enought travel out of the suspension - any lowering and your getting real close to the bump stops. I run pretty much standard rear on the back for gravel - enough travel but not stiff enough.

Tarmac I've got some lower stiffer springs (some coils close up to keep it captive (AE92 struts). But at the front on tarmac my Konis(GT4 spec adjustables) and coilovers are well short of available travel!! I'm thinking of machining up new upper mounts and reinforcing the whole strut top to get more travel!

Anyway I've heard circiut guys use 350 - 400lb springs Front and Rear the same. I've been doing sprints recently with 275lb at the front.

Have you done anything with your suspension mounting points?

Cheers, Al

all my suspension mounting points are factory , don't want to change too much for cert purposes, Car is road registered. I've got some bilsteins out of a subaru for my next setup with vk commodore springs. Borrowed some other springs roughly close to 300 pound in the rear , so now i've got a good chance of getting some i'll have to concentrate on the front and get my struts sorted to suit the hub of my fxgt.
