inlet gaskets? - sealant

Postby bluemaumau » Sat Mar 31, 2007 8:28 pm

alrighty, in the hope of fixing the high idle the corolla is suffering from i removed the whole intake on tuesday.

some of the standard gaskets (inlet and outlet pipes on s/c) were pretty buggered, so i took em off and applied a healthey dose of toyota black sealant (the stuff used on sumps).

and once the car got warm it started making some sickly anti-lag noises.

just wondering if the sealant could have melted, or if its the good stuff?

will

never heard of that stuff being used on the inlet manifold, i just use brand new gaskets. have you checked your timing with a good timing light? that can effect your idle quite a bit...
