help with sump bolt

Postby 4TEAZN » Mon Apr 09, 2007 5:11 pm

hey all, i went to take the sump bolt out on my hilux with the 22r petrol engine and finally cracked it as it was tight as hell and now it just seems to keep turning and not coming out or going back in so im basically screwed is there an easy way to fix this or am i going to have to force it out and retap the hole for a bigger bolt?
thanks in advance.

I did the same thing in an old car, I just left it there until next service, then just took the whole sump off, drilled out the bolt, bought another nut & bolt, had the nut welded on the inside and did it all back up again (not quite so tight though)
