3S-GTE fuel rail troubles (and mysterious water pipe)

I'm trying to put a ST205 3S-GTE into my Gen 2 MR2, I noticed the fuel feed banjo bolt is near #1 on my Gen 2 MR2, but it's on #4 on the ST205.
Is this change in location due to difference in generations, or different cars?
Also this strange water pipe does not exist in my Gen 2 MR2, I have no idea where it should be lead to, does anyone know? Thanks
