Pulling out my hair over this CAS problem

Postby method » Sun Apr 29, 2007 10:24 pm

I have a 4wire smallport CAS and am trying to use a GZE ecu to accept the signal.

On the GZE ECU;
G- is White
G1 is Red
G2 is Green
Ne is Black

I know that G1 and G2 pulse every so often where as Ne pulses every few degrees.

By inspection of the smallport CAS i concluded that
G- is White
G1 is Green
G2 is Yellow
Ne is Red

And when the CAS plug plugs into the loom the wires do all match up.
White goes with White
Red with Green
Green with Yellow
Black with Red.

But it keeps throwing a bloody error at me!!!

I was told the plugs shouldn't plug up because the wiring is different on the smallport 4wire cas compared to the GZE cas. So i had another look and concluded i may have got the G1 and G2 mixed up seeing as the signal comes from the same sensor lobe. So i swapped G1 and G2 over but still no luck.

Could someone point me in the right direction?
I cant find any pinouts comparing the GZE and the GE CAS pinouts so i dont know what wires i have mixed up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know people have done this before.

Cheers
Simon.
