Performance wise both are crap. Stick to Toyota.

Toyota probably dont do shocks for a car that old.
I have monroes in my wagon, just cause I didnt want to fork out the $70 extra for KYB's, and they're alright. Probably only done close to 10,000k's with them now though.
If its a car that you want to handle reasonably well, look toward KYB (effectively the same as TGP ones).

1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

early hilux ones, rn40 etc, are the same. I've got them fitted to the front of my ms65. bottom mount is a tiny bit smaller in bolt spacings but i used some hardened washers to make sure they wouldn't pose a problem. works fine.
would want to go for HD oens as I went for the stock replacement and they're a bit soft.... sadly... works for me thought for how I wanted the car to ride like. with stock springs up front they would likely be fine.

rang stocks they said nothing listed at all for a ms75 coupe :( but they did have something listed for a rn40 hilux HD item. $113+GST each. so got the fronts sorted now jus need some decent rears.

mean.
I only stumbled across that as was in the same dilemma as you a wee while ago, and was flicking throuh an AC delco catalogue form the early 80s and saw that they listed them as being the same.
as said, bottom mount needs larger diameter washer but thsat's kosher as IMO.
pedders sports shocks in rear = what I've got. they're firm as $&#$%. Dunno how they'll last htough. doesn't bother me. You;'ll be lucky to find anyhting bar pedders for the rear. Autolign had ONE monroe in stock when I was looking for some. check you've got the tbar style mount at the top of the rear, then ring pedders and see if they can help you out. If you're lowering it, work out the free lentgh you need to

yea pedder had a full set and so did auto align but not a big fan of munroes standard as im doing a transplant as soon as a sort the suspension and brakes with something that is gonna handle and stop well. thanks for the help hopefully get some springs custom made by snell and there telescopic front shocks so they shouldnt need any shortening.

$500 for the front suspension set up!! :( better start saving
