5k starts then dies

Postby scope » Sat May 12, 2007 7:03 pm

hi

finally got my 5k actually starting, but that only lasted for 2 days

now when i start it i give it some gas, it revs and then it just dies. putting my foot flat to floor does nothing, if i just not do anything it just dies as well

it's weird how it starts though. if i leave the starter motor on for a little bit extra it seems to keep running but dies when i left go of the key

i had just taken it for a drive before this happened, hasn't happened before. i just tried to start it again and it's doing this now

what's wrong ?

cheers for any help

almost garentee its ballest resistor as you by pass it for starting then its not there when you let the key go & hope to use it

I doubt it, as he said he drove it previously. Unless you've fiddled with the coil, its unlikely to be that. Make sure it doesnt have any intake leaks though.

So see if it has power at either side of the resistor with the key turned on.
