Caldina GTT transmission

Alrighty all you tech folks, here's an opportunity for you to dazzle me with your knowledge!

Looking at buying a 1998 Caldina GTT (5sp Manual, 127K, stock standard); the AA check said "Transmission: Top area- signs of seepage". The AA dude reckoned there was a little bit of seepage there, not dripping on the floor or anything tho.

My question is- what's the deal here? Being someone who likes a nice car but isn't overly tech minded- am I in for trouble? replacing seals- is it an option, or is there significant amounts of labour to get at the seals?

The other thing is that the clutch engages really far out which I always thought was a sign that it was getting pretty worn. The AA guy said it was fine...(which, when i quizzed him, just meant the clutch wasn't slipping). Am I potentially in for replacing the clutch shortly as well?

And then my final question (which isn't really a tech section question, but is related) is: Is 9K too much to pay for this car?

cheers!

its probably on a the factory clutch in which case it probably is getting close to needing replacing. as far as the leakage goes, they are pretty bullet proof gearboxes and i cant see it being anything major
