Postby EVL20V » Sat May 26, 2007 9:50 pm

have just removed the a/c

so have had to cut power steer belt in the process.

will need to suss out a new belt to run as the a/c pulley was removed, i need a much shorter one. anyone know from memory what belt fitted? is a 5PK**** belt. can just use the formula using pulley distances etc but wana see if anyone already has that info

im not running a tensioner at the moment, but this is something ill look into once the supra is on the road and the fxgt gets some time spent on it
poor thing..

i cant remember the belt size or number, but i got a measuring tape and measured the length it needs to be. Then i put the belt on as well as i could and cranked the engine over a couple of times (without starting it)

the belt went on and all has been good.

The only annoying thing is now that the belt has been on there about a year it needs to be adjusted ever so slightly. When first started on a cold morning you get a little bit of squealing, but its only for moment, and then its all sweet.

Sorry i cant be of anymore help.

Yeah Im using a 5PK890, and modified power steer pump so it had an adjuster pushing against the block. Ive had the belt jump off once (during the Mt Vic. Hillclimb),and the belt was missing the middle rib (was brand new about 6 months ago).

If you were to take off the pully, you'd fit a 5pk875 but it would be a stretch

I'll take pics one day

i used a rwd ae86 power steering pump beause it has a tensioner attached to it, only problem is the offset is a bit different so the p/s pulley sticks out a bit further than the fwd crank pulley, so iv just used a slightly thinner belt a 4pk****

could get a rwd crank pulley and itd be mint but cant be fuked when this way works
