fryed an injector? help

Postby EVL20V » Sun Jun 10, 2007 8:39 pm

was removing injectors and a spark occured when the socket touched intake plenum  now sounds like a wrx on 3 $#%#$ cylinders.
resistance across all injectors and plugs the same. reset ecu numerous times. checked all wire/plugs/leads etc.

it blows lots of black smoke also
should i measure the voltage across them? also TPS needs adjusted but shouldnt really be playing a part

I would have thought it more likely to be an injector driver. The silvertop and I presume blacktop run two drivers for all four injectors. So if your running on two cylinders, then I'd be looking at a new ECU or a repair.
The answer is Helmholtz!

Best bet is probably trying your ECU in his car rather than around the other way. If you have a short in your loom or something that blew the ECU then chances are he wont wont you doing the same thing to his.

And blown injector drive would be my first guess on that too
