So its ok to do so? The swaybar mount holes on my sedan don't go all the way through the chassis, so will need to be drilled out.

seems by the sounds of it, its sweet as too do, so long as putting crush tubes in, il also be welding a 5mm plate onto the chassis on by sides for a bit more strength as well, seems what most guys do

I take it by that comment that you are an experienced structural engineer?

Drilling a hole in a chassis rail may have no effect in some areas, but cause the car to rip apart in a crash in high-risk areas. No to be done lightly without some though and knowledge.

N00b Question....

What's a crush tube? Is it designed that in a crash it'll provide air gap hence it'll crush absorbing impact?

'Pologisse in advance and am praying to car gods for forgiveness.

its a peace of tube :P

ok when you drill thro a chassie you drill thro what looks like a box in 1 side & out the other now when you put a bolt thro that & do it up tight because you have weakened it the box clapases & folds in you have now lost over 50% of you structal interigaie dew to when you hit the box from the ends with the hole in the middle it will crush there as the sides are all ready pulled in makeing it the weakest point

a crush tube means you get a peace of tube drill the hole in the chassie to the same as the out side of the tube then cut the tube 4 thour (0.1mm) shorted than the size of box it slides in to then put your bolt thro the tube meaning you can only crush the box 2 thour (0.05mm) a side before you hit the tube so you loose no strength in your box
The faster you go the quicker you get there

Legend answer, thanks man. Yeah didn't really think that putting a whole in a chassis rail would be a good idea.
