Lowering with tyre sizes only

Postby MrOizo » Tue Jul 03, 2007 9:51 pm

I am in a bit of a pickle with the height of the trailer i use for work - For it to be working it needs to be a certain height from the ground.

Last week i had new duratorques installed (for those who dont know, its suspension for the trailer) and its raised the gear about 50mm higher than it used to be making the gear unable to be operated.

Just spent $200 on new tyres thinking the profile would be sweet and lower it enough to work but still just too high.

The smallest rim i can go to is 14" as we have disk brakes and calipers will hit on 13"s.

So anyone know a combination of tyres or a wheel/tyre combo that will lower it about 30-40mm?

The swap we did today lowered it only about 10-20mm but still need that extra 30-40mm to make things happy!

Currently on there are 195/70/14

Thanks in advance!

185/60/14 would be best bet for ok price and drop it 25mm (50mm overall difference in diameter)

185 55 14 are available (std on some euros) would get you 35mm lower but pricey.
