4age sump into escort

Postby oldskoolcrew » Sun Jul 22, 2007 12:58 pm

putting my 4agte into my wagon i realized sump needed cutting so ive cut it back as close to the oil pick up as i could but with the engine sitting flat in the car the back of the block is about 5cm away from the firewall and i dont know if i need to move the oil pickup or what? i know others have put 4ages into eskis on here so if someone could give me some advice on what they have done it would be great.

You can always move the pickup by extending the pipe. A 4age sump and pickup setup I used for a conversion had half of the pickup bent up 90 to clear the sump!! I don;t recommend that exacty but it seemed to work fine all the same. You could extend the sump out the sides/front to make up for lost capacity and position the pickup to suit......
