I am 100% that when we started it up ok , like the idle was fine.. not like it was struggling or anything it was just as a healthy engine would do, but we didn't let it warm up.. I know I switched it off to check some other things then mates started up and jus revved it.

However my main question is, if there does happen to be gunk, should I do an oil flush on it? because I was cautioned it would lead to doing the cam and certain other seals as the gunk dislodged.

I can't imagine that this would be too big an issue that it can't be fixed or something? :?:

if it never been serviced i would remove sump and cam cover and remove all gunky oil, it will cause problem later in life, especial imports as they do a lot of running time while in traffic. flush will help if it got high k's oils built up over 100,000 of k's or ur little late on service 15,000 instead of 10,000.

read 170psi in each cylinder and as the mechanic said, drove very well.

its gone for compliance,

I have to admit my hopes were pinned on that Galant, but I just needed to hear from fellas like yourselves (who have had experience with em) to know that it wasn't as good as it seemed.. no doubt the drive was good and it was quick between the gears, but that woulda been no good if it broke on me and then later I had jus a heap of metal crap lying aroudn that no one in Brisbane would wanna fix or at any decent rate atleast :P

Bring on the Aristo :D
