the WRX ones are the same turbo 'core' just with a different compressor housing and exhuast housing. If you are wanting one to build up to a hybrid turbo then a WRX one is suitable provided you can then get your hands onto a EVO1-3 exhaust housing

Vr4 up to the Evo 9's, Wrx's, Canter's, Gensets, Caterpillar equipment & lots more, one of my lists have 150 different TD05 turbos listed.

save 5-800 for a new one

Or save another couple of hundred more for a Genuine Evo3 Turbo...

Serious!! Who actually makes the base TD05 turbo?

Looks like perhaps Evo III one's the way to go....

Thanks again for all the replies, much appreciated :D

MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) make all the Mitsubishi series of turbo.4

but... yea the way to go would be the Evo 3 Turbo.
they are a awsome turbo and can make reasonbly good power.
and strong, (have seen rally turbos running 34psi and still lasting.)

i wouldnt recomend you run that sort of boost...
That turbo was rebuilt after every two rally's.

No problems... i answer dumb questions all day...

Yea the housings are able to be rotated.. you just have to remove the housings & pull the pin out of the turbine housing, and there is a little "key" in the compressor cover you can remove.
