Clutch Pedal Dilema!!

Postby HachirokuGTV » Tue Aug 14, 2007 7:34 pm

Im installing a T50 into an AE85 at the moment. Do I need an AE86 pedal box? I cant see how the AE85 one will work. I got an AE86 pedal box off Ebay but shame on me its LHD so it doesn't work. Surprise, surprise! I didn't even think about it when I bought it. Lucky it wasn't too expensive!
If anyone knows the secrets to this conversion please let me know.
Also. If anyone has a genuine AE86 with a bare firewall at the moment could you please post a pic of the clutch master location.

hey i think the difference between the ae85 and ae86 is the ae85 pedal is set up for clutch cable instead of a hydraulic setup? could b wrong but i think it is. as for ur LHD pedal u mite just be able to redrill it to suit the RHD setup. when i converted my chaser i had to redrill a new hole on the pedal but that was it worked fine other than that. see how u go

when i did the 4ag/t50 conversion in a starlet, i just picked a suitable spot for the mastercylinder, and drilled a hole in the pedal to suit.

most Toyota firewalls have a pressed area to accomodate a m/c, but it will need re-inforcing.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin
