Cant tel you to be honest if the pumps are the same but i more than likely think that they would be

The pumps on A70's are internal and you have to drop the fuel tank you cant get to them through the inspection plates in the back

I would personally be more inclined to say that the pumps are not the same and while you might be able to use a 7m pump with a jz, it may not be wise. In any case, if the pump is going to come out, replace it with a brand new aftermarket one, perhaps a bosch or a walbro. Not worth the hassle of getting a tow home when your replacement pump dies on you randomly in the middle of nowhere, speaking from experience, twice.

That said, you get really fast at taking the fuel tank out and swapping the pump when you've done it 10 times :P

sure:

jack the car up, put some stands under the big bolts that hold the crossmember in

open the boot, inside is a small hatch that gives you access to the plugs for the pump and the fuel level sensor, you need a phillips screwdriver for this, take the hatch off, undo the plugs

now go underneath the car, at the front of the tank, on the drivers side, are the 3 fuel line connections to the tank, you need a pair of pliers and 2 spanners (i forget what size but its somthing like 19 and 17 or 17 and 14)

disconnect those fuel lines, be careful on the feed, the big part of the connection is the bit that turns, try not to twist the line, i usually position both spanners so i can hold them in one hand and then just squeeze them together

once youve done that, you might want to put a jack under the tank, put a bit of wood between the jack and the tank so you don't dent it, dont jack it up hard out, just make contact between the jack and the tank

now undo the big straps that hold the tank in, it helps if you have a deep socket but i found you can also just place the socket on the end of an extension without locking it in and you should still be able to get the nuts off

once those are undone, pull the straps right back so they're poking out the back of the car, lower the jack slowly, you have to move the tank around a bit so it doesn't get caught when the filler is coming down, sometimes i take the fuel cap off first, i'll leave that up to you to decide

once the tank is out you can remove the pump with an 8mm spanner or a screwdriver, i prefer the spanner, you don't strip the heads of the screw that way.

putting it back in is reverse of the above process, be careful to make sure the connectors for the pump and sensor are poking out that hatch though! its a bitch when you go to plug them in and realise you can't get at them because you've tightened the straps up and they're stuck off to the side somewhere.
