AE82 radiator

Postby xsspeed » Thu Nov 15, 2007 5:10 pm

Hey
I am chopping a ae82 auto for parts, need to use the radiator. I am putting it into a manual ae82, but i noticed the auto one has two lines running from the bottom of the radiator towards the g/box. Are these cooling the g/box, if so what can i fill the holes with when i remove the radiator to put into the manual ae82? (which doesnt need these lines)

The reason for the switch is the current radiator has a tiny crack in the top, should i bother changing, or is there a quick fix. Have herd of people using knead-it but dont imagine that would be warrantable

Cheers

the two lines are a seperate tank down the bottom, you dont need to block them off, mine used to be auto and mine arnt block off so should be sweet

so i would just empty the lower tank?
Is that what they are, cooling for the auto trans?

yea there would just a pipe runing around in the bottom then back out, so the colder water down the bottom would cool the auto trans fluid, i doubt there would be much in there

so is it the trans fluid that runs through the lines, and through the water in the tank? rather than water running to a cooler in the g/box?

So if i remove the lines, should i expect much trans fluid to come out?
