4age alternators

With all the wide array of 4ages in different configurations made I am just wondering if most of the alternators are the same? I'm more interested in replacing one off an aw11. Will other blue-top alternators, say off an ae82, fit my aw11?

dont mean to hijak but im also interested in this except for red-silver-black tops?

i think all the mounts are the same but the plugs change
eg, blacktop will mount on ae82/92/101
and silver/blacktop have idle pulley on the bottom mount to.

4agze are a different type of fish

Ok, I was hoping it would be something like that. Toyota seem to be pretty handy in that department.

each group has different plugs and/or mounting points

I know that silvertop alternators come with two different plug styles.. one is basically flat and the other is round. One is pre-facelift, one post-facelift (i assume)
