1JZ and 2JZ injectors... ???

Postby trd-drifting » Tue Nov 27, 2007 7:01 pm

I am sorry if this has been covered but just after some help.

Ok some people I have spoken thought 1JZ and 2JZ injectors are interchangeable but by have pulling my stock 1JZ injectors out and comparing them with the 2jz injectors. They appear to be a lot different and I would say they are not interchangeable but I am no mechanic and far from it so please correct me if I am wrong.

The Photos show 2 different sealing points and where the fuel flows through are in 2 different locations. The 1JZ injector is the yellow one :)

Any opinions????? or things that I am missing....

was the 2jz those injectors came out of vvti? or perhaps non-turbo? i had a set of 2jz injectors and they were externally identical to my 1jz ones except colour of plug and the holes in the bottom. oh, and they came with different o rings, but the 1jz ones fit on.

Um i got told they were 2jzgte injectors, I will find out what they are from but for some reason i think they were out of a 1998 but can't confirm. As the picture shows they are compltely different does this make them out of a 2jzgte vvti

Pretty sure the 98 supras would have been vvti, someone on here can probably confirm this (A friend of mine had a 98 RZ, which was definitely vvti).

If you really want some, look for a set out of an earlier 2JZ-GTE, non vvti.

I really should find out where my set have gone.

What are they supposed to be rated at?

The USA spec are 550's, but jap spec are 440 or 450 aren't they?

Yep, the USA is 550cc and JDM is 440cc. JDM is straight swap but the USA one I think is a different impedence...
