Tire pressure

Postby Willdat? » Wed Dec 05, 2007 8:51 pm

Hi guys, quick question, just realised I have no idea what pressure to inflate my tires to. Last wheel allignment, they inflated to 40PSI which seemed excessive.
Car is BZ Touring, Tires are 205/40-17s, used on open road all the time. Nelson -> Gore (via Queenstown) and back this weekend. Any suggestions would be great...

sounds all good to me, if you're worried about it being high take it down a little. as a general rule of thumb low profile tires require a higher pressure.

40 is getting up there, but since you do a lot of open road driving, i'd keep it there. Mine hovers between 36 and 40 for same sized tyres
