HOw much gearbox oil

JUst a quick question i did a search and didnt come up with much, im Just wanting to know about how much a oil a e58 takes so that i know how much ill need to buy as ill be getting them in 1L bottles i think. I dont want to get 4 if i only need 3.

why not just buy one at a time, start filling it up at midday and as you run out but dont overflow the filler hole you buy another one?

I went the other way, bought a 4L as it was similar price as 3x 1L so 1L for free, or 1L that I can allow to end up on the floor as i'm such an ace when it comes to putting in gearbox oil

Adydas's theory sounds like a lot more "fun" tho

These all sound like good ideas but im getting a friend to get them for me as he gets them at a pretty good price. So he has to get the right amount first time.

i use 4 for my e51, it was over 3 but under 4 i beleive, pretty sure it was closer to 4. but i got 5qts just in case, and for whenever i take driveshafts out etc in future
