HPC Coating on stainless steel headers

Postby ShiXtr » Tue Dec 11, 2007 4:01 pm

Hi All,

I will be getting my TRD stainless steel exhaust headers fr my 2zz-ge motor and have been told that doing HPC Coating on it will ensure that the engine bay will have a reduced overall temperature and better exhaust flow as well.

Has anyone had any experience with HPC coatings and if they are worth doing?

Cheers

They will do exactly that but depending on what coating you go for it can be very expensive, you have to way it up, you could use that money to go towards a aftermarket computer, or you could wrap them

Got my rwd 3sge extractors HPC coated. It has the most benefit if it is coated on the inside of the tubes. Cost about $250 from the guys in Taupo. Good service. My manifold unbolts into about 4 pieces as I got it made with slip joints - they guy loved this as he could be sure the coating inside would stick cause he could get it really clean first.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Pro Coat are $&#$% awesome.
Seriously good prices and descent turn-around too.
Ive had just about everything powder coated, teflon coated or ceramic coated and its all turned out sweet as. You just need to specify that threads be masked up.
The ceramic coating is their HPC equiv.

I also vote for Pro-Coat. HPC took forever to do my stuff and then didn't even mask off the baffles in my camshaft cover. I have to drill off the baffles to get the polishing beads out!! Incompetant idiots.

I got a sump coated with the HPC teflon type coating... Unfortunately I won't know if it worked until I tear the engine apart... In another 100,000km or turbo conversion, whichever comes first...

pro coat did my old factory manifold in the hi temp black and it burnt off in only a week . i took the car in to them and they said they dont guarantee turbo manifolds because of the extreme temps .

I hope you guys are buying from Revhead... the price drops considerably over what dealers offer.
