I've read on the DBA site that the Aus cop cars get DBA brake pads. I'm not saying that the NZ ones are the same as the Aus ones (most things aren't) but you could easily make the assumption that they are.

Also, there is a taxi in Hamilton that used to be a cop car. Apparently the other undercover cop cars often flash at him to say hi, before they realise it's no longer a cop car. Could be utter bollocks but would be interesting to know.

As well as, I have heard (it is a friend of a friend deal but) that they do get a certain amount of a work over before being handed over to the police. But from memory it isn't anything to soak your trousers over.
Brute force and ignorance always prevails.

Failure comes from too little brute force, or too little ignorance.

Seems unlikely considering these days marked police cars dont get flashed / waved or ignored speeding.

But if they werent actually working lights, just say some cardboard cutouts with cellophane, could they still get you? Only the undercover lights obviously, not the marked cars with lights on the roof

Yes, they could still get you, because you're trying to make it look like there are lights there, which is still impersonating. It's like walking down the street in a police uniform, but not saying "hi, I'm a cop"

we have servied some police cars in the past and they were mostly all lease cars, from what i saw they were stock standard apart from the lights, radios and a few small other bits. All parts replaced had to be "genuine" holden parts. And they do get the crap thrashed out of them This VY wagon we saw would get a new set of front brake rotors about every 15-20,000km

You can see they're lower, and have either cross drilled or slotted rotors (can't remember which) And it's obviously going to differ between Civilian/Patrol/Highway/Detective/Dog Handler police cars. There's a smashed ex-police car at the wrecker on Gasson St for those in CHCH to nosy at.

waste of time posting that up Ollie. there are too many posters on here who consider them to be a 'Standard' car, without taking the chance to even read the build plate and realise the options are different to an average sold-by-a-dealer car.
