find out exactly where its leaking from by drying it all off and waiting for a drip to form, maybe it needs that bolt, maybe it needs more gasket glue / sealant.

my engine had about 6 leaks when I first put it in, pissed water out everywhere without the engine even running. got it started anyway (to make sure it ran), let it warm up while keeping an eye on the water.

its never leaked since. when it all warms up it sorta seals everything together. might work in your case... but would pay to still keep an eye on the temp and water level!

half the bolts secure the pump to the housing the other half bolt the housing to the block (through the pump).

did you replace the oring between the block and housing?, if not theres a good chance youve broken the seal, youll find the oring will be hard and brittle.

If its leaking onto the front of your engine it will be your waterpump.

Tighten all the bolts and use the correct lengths for the holes it requires.

The gasket and the mechanical seal (the one on the pully) need to be heated up before they actually work.

This happened to mine. Keep the water level up and run the engine temperature up to operating. Then hop in and take it for a cane, and i mean a good cane. Not to far maybe 5 - 10km, but give it shit.

Double check everything is alright and hopefully it should have stopped leaking water.

There are 2 halfs to a water pump and if you buy from repco etc. you just get the pump half and no o-rings.
Then when you unbolt the half, the rubber o-rings which will be old/hard/brittle will no longer be making a seal. it's best to pull both parts of the block, bolt/goo them together on the bench, then replace the o-rings and bolt it back on.

taking it for a thrash is not a good idea, if it's leaking, then it's leaking.

yeah got it from repco. thats stupid!
so the other half will just come of if i take the bolts around pump of?
also if i slap it togher will it still fit in engine bay with the engine still in?thinking there might not be enough clerance

Its tight but you'll get it in as a unit. Use a screwdriver and dig the old oring out, get it all clean, then silicone the new oring in place.

just try and bolt the pump assembly on straight without moving side to side as not to shift the oring. I normally pressure test the cooling system to make sure theres no leaks before going any further, but thats just a precaution, youll be right mate!

Haha my words have much wisdom...

Its a dirty 4age and its not gonna hurt it.
I redid my seals on my water pump 4 times and it still continued to leak, a friend of mine just said "leave it, take it for a little drive and you'll be suprised that at how much it reduces it" suprise suprise it worked.
