s/s and non s/s hubs...

Postby slighty_sykotic » Sun Jan 20, 2008 5:30 pm

Hey guys,

can someone confirm that i can drop in a e series lsd 4agze ae101 box and shafts to a gt apex (20v, non s/s) car and run the apex hubs/etc.

If not, can the outer cv be changed to make it fit? Or is the only option to transplant the 4agze s/s hubs and struts in?

that the exact setup i have so it fits somehow.

i have an issue where i am unsure on what hubs i have, i had trouble when i last had to find a wheelbearing for it , they are definately not ae101 non-ss as factory fitted , from memory i think it turned out to have ae101 4agze hubs.
i need to replace another wheelbearing again so ill let you know when i find out for sure.

whether or not it has to be changed over i dont know as i inherited that part from previous owner.

the shaft will fit the hubs no problem.
The AE92 GTZ has thick shafts but with hubs almost (if not exactly) identical to 20v (even brakes are the same). We swapped E58 (from AE101 GTZ) into AE92 using E58 shafts and it all fitted without modifications. Also we used AE101 (non SS 20v ones) hubs in AE92 as well, which means that AE101 20v should accept the AE101 GTZ gearbox no problem.

Yes they will fit. I was using an ae101 4agze lsd box on my corolla, and i was using the standard corolla hubs.

Only problem I encountered was the rear engine mount had different mounting holes through the cross-member, but then I might have not been using the right engine mount.
