550cc injectors

Postby NOLAW » Mon Jan 28, 2008 8:00 pm

i have a set of rx7 injectors that i am running on my 4agte, i have put them in and found that the plug inlet is hard up against the feul rail and there is no room for the plug on the loom to go on, i compared them to some other rx7 550cc injectors today and noticed that the other ones i looked at had a more round plug inlet (common shape) which would be more practicle than the ones i have, has anyone else had this problem, if someone can help me out with the specs between the two types of rx7 550cc injectors and weather i need to get the other ones then that would be much appreciated

pics of my injectors.

What if you spin them 180deg around so they face down?

the low down on rx7 injectors

The ones with the offset locator lug as per your pic, are LATE series 4 13BT, very late 1987 and early 1988. they are high impendance. the part number on them in 195500-1370. 195500-1370 fitted to 1985 thru 1987 Series 4 13BT have the locator lug in the centre, these are low impendence, and share the plug with lots of early nippon denso injectors, commonly found on injected mazda & toyota thru the 80's.

the ones you mention with the 'common' rounder plug are series 5 high impendence injectors, that style of plug is 'common' on modern vehicles.
all of the ones mentioned above are 550cc

you can also get Series 6-8 13BREW injectors, they are side feed, 550cc primary and 850cc secondary
