****anther problem on 4agze turbo fuel on plugs****

Postby corolla gt » Mon Feb 11, 2008 8:14 pm

i have checkd all the spark and leads and they are sweet but wen i start the car it fouls up the plugs straight away with fuel on them...there is fuel on the top ov my pistons...soon az i clean the plugs it starts again then it stalls

i have 440cc vr4 injecters link computer and im thinking maybe the car is runnnig really rich with fuel becuase the smoke is grey coming out ov the exhaust

is there anyway i can make the ar run not so rich on these injecters just 2 get it runnnig? the link computer has been changed to 4age sub board so that should be sweett

any help because after i have done this problem its going to a shop and they are goning 2 fix it haha

have you got an adjustable fuel reg?
what sort of fuel pump have you got?

id drop the fuel pressure down to about 25-30psi and see what happens,

my engine filled with fuel when I had my injectors wired wrong. I had 12v + going to them, then earthed the other side out so they were open constantly

it would literally fill the engine with fuel, then I could turn the fuel pump off and start the car and have it run for about 30 seconds

2 bar is 29psi so should be about right. I was running a VL pump on my old n/a 4age which was about 38psi from memory.

Seems like the injectors are WO, check to see if they are pulsing with a screwdriver to your ear, or use an led if you can get one to check the triggering.

thats all it can be if the fuel pressure is right...

What map is in the computer?
Tow it to a place that can pull some of the fuel out of it and then get it tuned properly.

A dude at work had a problem when he installed an Apexi computer into his Altezza. Turned out to be and earthing problem, causing the injectors to be on constantly.
Check all the earths and wiring for your Link. There seems to be a lot of faults with ECUs coming in recently.

The other possibility is you have been running too much duty cycle and the injectors are fused open.

Are all four plugs wet? Are you using more than one injector trigger?

An earth fault wont generally take out more than one trigger (I used to wire my LEM's 1 and 4, 2 and 3, earth fault once made 2 and 3 not fire) where as too much duty cycle may take out some or all injectors.
The answer is Helmholtz!

Have you got a good breather setup for it? The stock single breather is no where near good enough for a turbo set up. I've used two oil filler cam covers as it gave me a second breather outlet. A few others have done similar. It's pretty cheap too, especially if you have spares lying around.

Oil catch can with a filter on it.
With two breather cam covers, you'll need a catch can with two inlet pipes and the outlet on top with a little air filter.
