what if i am just going for 20mm lowered would that cause a big issue ?

if you are looking at a 20mm drop you will probably not have to worry about gettng the shocks shortened. in my personal experiance I didnt need to.
With King springs (assuming you are not using super low) you will probably find a drop of around 40mm is more likely, once again in my experiance shocks did not have to be shortend
what car are you looking at putting this setup in to ?
