205 GT4 brakes replacement question

Postby DaVe0r » Sun Mar 16, 2008 12:07 am

Hey ppls

after jacking up the celica trying to find the dam clunking when reversing and the bashing sound when going over any bumps, (turns out the exhaust job was a botch up as it hits the gearbox when the motor moves)
i did my best to check the Super strut out ..no movement or play ?? so may be not that..BUT while under the car
i noticed that the rotors are lipped on both sides..easily 1mm and have some nice grand canyon makes on one rotor

now rather than getting them machines back again..where do i buy new slotted rotors for the GT4?? i looked at DBA web site and they are not listed..

does TRD make something for this??? im going to also upgrade the pads at th same time too

heres a pic of the exhaust job anyways :( (that i didnt do btw)

Toyota should do new ones, they are a little bit more than the aftermarket items though.

Most of the rotors I've priced up have been $144+GST ea, but depending on the model, and if you go through rev head it might be different.

They are expensive no matter where you get them from as they are veined. Make sure you get a left and a right one as the veins are directional.

If the clunking noise is comming from the front then it will be a small spacer in your superstrut. But if your sure its your exhaust then it will be your exhaust (looking at it)
