Caldina how to remove dash

Postby magnazan » Sun Mar 30, 2008 8:27 pm

Well the final fix on my list is to get rid of what sounds like a screw loose in one of the windscreen air vents.

I did some searching on the forum but couldn't find much info on removing the dash. I know there are a few guys who have gutted dinas and just wondering if

A) it's a huge job and i should just turn up the beats to drown the noise out, or
B) it's not that bad and it's only a few screws
or
C) There is some trick to get to the vents without unscrewing everything

Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

I would be interested too.

It seems the whole surround around the stereo going right over the dash is one piece! weird design that looks like it could be a pain in the ass.

If you pop out the top glovebox thing, then carefully start at the top and work down, that surround and the vents pops out relatively easily.

I did think about using a vacuum but i think the vents are a little too close to the windscreen to get at properly. I was thinking about creating an electromagnet but i'll give the popping the vents out a go. When it stops raining that is.

expanding foam in the vents will cure the rattle
