If you did it while the ECU was unplugged, cant have damaged the ECU.

Does the fuel pump still run when you first turn on the car?

Yes = ok
No = blown fuse.

Igniter was tested with multimeter?

So the fuel pump is not ECU controlled?

Cant use that to tell if the ECU is powering up then.

Cant test an igniter with a multimeter accuratly.

what sort of igniter? how many wires and what labels.

How did you get on?

I still think with fuel and no spark, and the way you pulled the ECU, you're looking at FET damage.

Description of how it kept running seems to tell me that the "kill switch" disconnected the battery but the alternator kept supplying power...
Rewire the kill switch to disconnect power going to the fuel pump and the computer so if you have a crash the kill switch will stop the pump spraying fuel onto any fire that might happen!

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
