another n00b question to do with 4a cas

On a 4agze if you turn the cas clockwise does it advance or retard the timing?

retard is clockwise

advance is anti clockwise

Well yeah... Which way does the engine rotate? Turning the CAS the opposite way to this will 'advance' when it sees the signal for it.

Yeah i should have thought a bout it, im sick of thinking haha!

Was gunna rangi bump back timing at the drags because i have a bad flatspot around 6k. Base timing is at 13* advance and im sure the knock sensor is picking up a little knock around there.

Also check your cam timing. I've just had the same sort of thing on a twincam Mazda and it turns out the cam timing was out by a tooth so then the ignition timing couldn't be adjusted correctly.
