Obviously wasn't very well setup then. I had a heck of a lot of fun in my "turbo GTZ" playing with a Cosworth Sierra at Manfeild the other day.

Didn't have any bogging or wheelspin problems at all.

Just my 2c.

You are joking right?
I owned a Trueno for 7 years, and it is horribly slow compare to ST205, although it is AE101, I have driven heaps of AE111s BZG and BZRs and they are not much different.
You obviously confuse ST205 with slow and heavy ST185...
Have you even driven a non molested ST205?
Stock vs Stock ST205 is way better than AE1XX, there is no question about it.
And btw it is not that heavy, it is just a little under 1.4t vs 1.2t for AE101 and 1.1t for AE111.
Also AE111 come with shitty interior, even speakers are worse than AE101s, and look like they been cheaply built compare to AE101.

Oh and I forgot to add that AE1XX is just understeer galore without LSD.

you were talking about ae111s with a 3sgte in it, not a 4age 20v, but now ur talking about comparing a 3sgte gt4 with an ae111 4age 20v lol.

I think you take both cars to pukekohe, both in stock form, and ud be surprised how well the ae111 will go.
On the road, you cant tell jack arse how well a car handles, a 4wd on the road will alawys feel way better just cos it has more go fowards traction on a slippery surface. Get to the track its a different story.

As for driving turbo GTZs, your trying to tell me my car handles like poo and shouldnt have beaten the pants off 2 evos at superlap with 300kw. When I was running 260kw. + the evo handles much much better than a gt4 would :)

I am not telling your car handles bad, I would assume your car handles really well. I am telling the one I drove did handle bad, mainly due to funny boost curve and lowered springs ;).
I know how well those FWD do on track compare to EVOs and such, even in tarmac rally, I do servicing for one of the Fiesta Series car after all ;).
But I would still prefer a ST205 GT4 over a 3SGTE powered Levin, but I hate lowered cars and unnecessary loud exhausts and shiny wheels ;). Se what I look in cars is a package, and AE101 is better suited for an N/A engine overall.
The main thing is what the original poster will be using car for, road, track or rally, or just go up and down queen street with screamer pipe and obnoscious BOV.

And BTW, ST205 in factory form does not handle a lot worse than an EVO of same generation. I drove EVOs as well and they are nothing special ;) (compare to porsches for example).

ive driven a st205 a ae101 and a evo 2/3/4 evo 3 anyday ae101 with 3sgte every other day. i wish i had kept my ae101 and done that :( and dont say a awd is faster than a fwd as my curren proved it had it agenst st205's as it lost less in drive train. I am actuley planing to put a 3sgte into a ae101 just as soon as i find a good ae101 rolling body localy/auckland

If anyone finds anything substantial, like work involved and costs etc, please post it up or let me know. Its a very tempting project.

My Opinion - to make your proposed conversion waaaay easier.

- find a diesel powered xE11X corolla http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/toyot ... 96_5/2296/
- use the gearbox, driveshafts, crossmember and gearbox mounts and maybe the engine mount as well.
- bolt the S series motor to the gearbox
- boost it up
- be happy

The C series motor/bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as S series motors.
No need to fluff around with custom driveshafts, mounts, etc.

Good luck

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
