Postby Corolla_Gurl » Mon Aug 04, 2008 11:27 pm

Hey i just brought a Toyota Caldina GTT 98, first aussie owner (only like 60 in whole of aussie)
i want to lower it and due to how rear they are here i need to know what springs i would use to lower it (my mechanic said chances are another toyota model would fit)

Others might fit, i have no idea, but i imagine the weight of a Caldina compared to whatever would make a difference and wouldnt ride right.

Im sure some of the sponsors on here ship overseas, i really like my TRD springs in my MR2, and have heard good things about TEIN.

Dobi make a set for the caldina, you should be able to get a set fairly easily since they are an Australian manufacturer.

most of the caldinas I've been in with after market springs went with Tein, and they seem to be pretty bloody good, they make it fell less like a whale.

Dobi springs in mine made it a bit too low to be practical - hitting the bumpstops all the time. Have changed to Tien and the ride has improved dramatically, although it's nowhere near as low as it was.

Cant speak for Caldina, but I run TRD Springs in my MR2

Only lowered the car 20mm over stock, Tein-S techs were about 35mm and slightly more expensive than the TRDs

They are really good, not overly low, make the car handle better than stock (being 35% harder than factory springs).

So I put my vote in for TRD ones.

Tein for me too, can't fault the handling but beware the drop is hardly flattering.....

I have Tein coilovers in mine. Probably should have just gone with Tein springs but ohwell.

These are the ones I have: (ignore the letters)
