Find a JZA70 motor complete with loom and manual ECU, your car being a 1990 it should all plug straight in.
You can re-use your rubber engine mounts, if the 1JZ does not come with JZA70 alloy engine mount brackets you'll need to buy them new from Toyota.
You'll want to find a JZ-W manual bellhousing (hardest part) but can be purchased from Nite B and he also does flywheels and clutches, expect to pay more for this gear than the engine itself.
Aftermarket intercooler with custom piping or genuine JZA70 intercooler and piping.
Custom exhaust to mate 1JZ y-pipe to current exhaust. Exhaust are same cat-back so if you get the exhaust up to the cat (or full exhaust) with the 1JZ then you're set.
Easiest way to do it is buy a front cut as you have everything all at once.
And to be perfectly honestly, it works out about the same or cheaper doing it this way also as you're generally looking at about $1500 for engine, loom, ecu, $1,000 for bellhousing, flywheel and clutch, expect probably another $1,000 for mounts, intercooler, piping, exhaust etc.
$3,500 should get you a half cut, ring Daito auto parts in Temuka.
