ae92 auto to manual

hi guys, ive just converted my fxgt to manual, ive been told you need to find the inhibitor switch and bridge the wires? is that true and where abouts are the wires i need to bridge? is that all i need to do to make it start?


any help will be much appreciated :)

on the old auto there will be a plug right at the selector lever this has the inhibitor switch and reverse switch so find the wire harness plug that was on there and 2 wires you will need to bridge for the starter and connect the other 2 to the reverse switch on the manual gearbox to get the reverse lights working.

I did this on an AE82 and here are the wires I joined.
The plugs on the left were cut off the auto box. The fat wires went to the starter inhibitor (park safety switch)

Is that diagram faq'd? If its not it should be :)

thats awesome guys thanks for that, the only problem is my plugs look completely different that the ones in the pic, i will get some photos of the plugs i have tomorrow :)
