Yeap, good advice. Did all of those things too.
My engine bearings lasted 600klm from new.
Oil pressure is your friend - so too are good engine builders.

i never did that after building mine, builder just said on 1st start up rev it up and float between 2000-3500rpm for ten then just start driving

and the turbo bearings run dry for a bit at a higher speed than if you were cranking it with the starter motor. hmm.
