how to remove dizzy from ge head?

Postby Paulio » Tue Dec 18, 2007 4:32 pm

hey with all the hassle of trying to find a manifold to fit around the stoopid dizzy on the 4age redtop head, figured it should be possible to convert it/remove it and use a cam angle sensor or something..

anyone got any input or past experience on this?

is this for a link ecu or something? cam angle sensors are dear at about $150 each. I think the redtop dizzy has the same sensors/wheels in it so you could use it as a cas.

shit bros my user got locked out haha.

not for a link, just so I can use a turbo manifold that doesn't have to dodge the 16v dizzy so much, CAS will give a bit more room for upwards bends.

the bro said the same thing, it's a redtop smallport head anyways so have ripped the dizzy bits off the cas/dizzy, getn a cover made up (too hard to find cam angle sensor so soon) and get some coil packs, install the link and $&#$% aye shes a runner.

cheers bros any more tips apprciated

anyone else done the dizzy to cas swap on 4age ?

Im kinda in the same boat got a manifold made up (cheers Evil Si !) but doesnt all quite clear the dizzy cap so looking for a cas to swap on for more room, will probably use a gze ecu with it not a link thou.

havnt found muh searching is all

cheers

So apparently the redtop smallport has the cas in the dizzy but the bluetops don't. I know from experience that the redtop does, you could get a smallport dizzy (if it'll fit??), i *think* i've still got the old one that i used before i got ahold of a ze cas, can have a look.

dude i would absulutely love to.. but.. after i spent a year pouring thousands of coin & hundreds of hours in to it, inbetween rebuilds (blew its head on 1/4 mile trials), about 3 weeks ago, the car was parked up and some darkies smashed a window and stole a couple of things, alloy radiator, intercooler & piping/bov, wastegate, link ecu, sterio & speakers, guages, radar detector etc etc. real deserving type guy. so i've put it off till next year.

all good, ive got "the" 190e merc now, julian, tui smith sort guys had it. got a parts car from rotavegas (with 17's, woot woot), used parts & straightened out the rolling gear, needs another grand then its all legit & mint, my summer rollin' car.

BUT in september, 5-0 Anthony Fackentosh decided he needed more quota for the night, picked on a "boy-racer" type and wrote up a bullshit fine with demerits and mailed it out to me, so now ive got a suspended license 'till february. fark! forked out $500 for my lawyer yesterday to write in and sort it out. cross fingers!

so, ah, yep for sure, but it wont be till the 1st quarter of '09.

I'll give you a hand with the trueno though, you supply drugs & tui. Theres no garage at the new flat, i miss random hours in the garage working on cars! we're on ayton st, off gordon st, off valley road, you can tell which one is ours. cruz ova some time.

The gze cas, redtop smallport dizzy and 20v dizzy's have a single tooth wheel with two sensors and a 24 tooth wheel

The bluetop dizzy also has a 'cas' built into it.
However it has a 4 tooth wheel and a 24 tooth wheel so wont work
