Tein Suspension

Postby bbq1988 » Mon Mar 23, 2009 2:07 pm

Hey guys.
I have tein adjustiable suspension in my car (caldina gtt)

It was all sweet when i put it in and got it certed but lately it has started to make a knocking noise. We have tracked it down to the spring not being quite captive (but were when i installed them)
This is only on the rear left side and you only hear the knocking at low speeds and going over driveways.

So my question is, Do the keeper springs sag over time? could that be my problem?

Cheers in advance.
Harley.

Was it brand new when you put it in? Just thinking perhaps with a bit of use the springs have settled

IF YOUR KEeper spring was loose/sagy etc it would make a hell of a knocking noise all the time, and you car would be slightly of center

do your teins on the gtt run a pillow block/ball set up at the top? i woukd start there and work down

if there anything like the jzx100 chassis ( im talking front here ) they have these rather expensive castor arm with solid rubber bushes in them that wear real fast like

comin issue, easy fix

I had a similar noise to the one you describe last year in my gtt, although I only have shitty D2 adjusties.
The cause of mine was a looses lock nut at the top of the tower under the bonnet. A new Fuji nut and some locktight made it disappear.
Maybe check there too?
