Could try another ignitor if all else fails. Had a failed ignitor on a mitsi which meant the car would not start due to no spark.
You haven't told us whether or not you're getting a spark or not yet though.

Test the Opening circuit relay. That is the one bolted to the ECU bracket.

Im thinking afm too. Can't rule it out. If i pull the AFM off my mr2 it will start then die straight away.

If it isnt the afm or you can somehow rule it out go to plugs if not that then try disconnecting 02 sensor, then maybe do compression check that might tell you something, then check all your leads are firmly plugged into everything.

Then if not that you may have a major vac leak, check bov? and listen for escaping air. Maybe a plug has come out somewhere also. Check fuses. Have you got enough gas in it?

Dont take it to the dump that sounds like a waste

I had a similar thing happen to one of my plugs once, except it was only cracked. would missfire until 4500rpm then haul ass, was fun to drive as I had to rev it out

still drove perfect over 4500rpm though...

So what did the plugs actually look like when you pulled them out? Wet, black, etc etc

Hmm... thing is it starts up fine... Idles fine... Just REALLY need to know what would cause it to just STOP itself... Actually when i was driving it home last every 5 - 6 seconds the cars power would flick on and off real quick, like the speedo and tacho would drop and car would turn off then it would flick back on........

Check the earth wire on the AFM - could be broken or disconnected. Had the same sort of problem when wiring the silvertop into my AW. Think it's white with a black trace - for a silvertop anyway.
See ya
