Motorbike Oil

Postby Kittah » Sat May 09, 2009 7:05 pm

So I went to Repco to pick up some oil for my up-coming oil change, and they didn't have much in the way of fully synthetic oil. The staff member I was talking to said he often uses Mobil 1 SuperSyn 15W-50 in his Stagea 260RS, as it's designed for high-performance (motorbike) usage.

Seems like a stupid question, and Googling it seems to suggest it's fine, but is there any harm in using it in my 20V? Thoughts?

Huh? What? that mobil supersyn 15w-40 is normal engne oil designed for cars. From your other thread It made clear that you should be using 10w-40 or 10w-30 fully synthetic- depending on the state of your engine though.

could have brought up this question in your other thread-didnt need a new one :D

Wet clutch? Make sure you get bike stuff otherwise you'll be up for a clutch. Castrol do a few oils which your bike shop should be able to tell you about.

I think I'm running their Power1 GPS oil, semi synthetic. Cant remember the price but it wasn't overly expensive
