What sort of oxy sensor does the silvertop have?

Postby ChaosAD » Sun May 17, 2009 3:49 pm

I have an lc1 fitted to my car and would like to see what sort of afr's the stock ecu runs before changing to aftermarket.

The LC-1 has a simulated narrowband output but it apparently wont work with the Titania Oxide oxy sensors that some engines use as they vary their resistance instead of outputting a voltage.

Does the silvertop use one of these sensors? Looking at the ecu pinout it seems it does.
Even if it does, would it still work despite what the LC-1 manual says? as the ecu still has a 0.45v comparator like the ecu's using the zirconium oxy sensor

Looking at the wiring diagram I don't think it uses a Titania sensor as it shows a heated sensor, and no indication of a pull-up to 5 or 12v which would be needed for a resistive sensor.

Theres a bit of info on it here

Tatania Oxide sensor.
This four terminal device is a variable resistance sensor with heater. It it connected in series between the OX+ reference to a fixed resistance inside the ecu. This circuit operates similar to a thermistor circuit

The silvertop ecu has an HT, OX+ and OX pin. There is a resistor between the ox pin and ground. So it looks like the ecu has a titania sensor and looking through the pdf above it seems the lc1 will work. But i'd like a second opinion before connecting it up as I dont want to fry anything.

The silvertop uses very common Zirconium sensor not Titania.
