MR2 boost/temp problem

I am having a issue with the 2 at the moment that is intermittent. Has only happened a few times, and other times is fine. Once I let the car get up to temp and nail the gas, initially it boosts up fine, but the temp gauage drops right down, which in turn enables the cold boost cut. After a while it will get back to normal temp, but will go through the same process as above over and over. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open.

I had this problem, thermostat was stuck open. Cheap and easy fix.
